Marco Capital is a provider of legacy solutions serving the European and Lloyd’s insurance markets. PoloWorks, owned by Marco Capital, provides insurance services through Polo Managing Agency and Polo Commercial Insurance Services, supporting syndicate management, compliance, back-office operations and turnkey insurance services. 

After acquiring two specialty insurance units, Marco Capital needed a managed service provider that could move the business onto a completely new cloud-ready IT platform and support model at speed. Getronics responded with a ROM-costed proposal within three days, then worked with the PoloWorks team to refine and deliver two transition programmes for PoloWorks and Marco Group.

The Challenge

Creating a new IT foundation during rapid growth

Marco Capital entered a new stage of growth after acquiring two specialty insurance units, now known as PoloWorks. The business needed more than day-to-day IT support. It needed a partner that could migrate the acquired teams to a new platform, introduce ITSM processes and policies quickly and support a broader outsource model across cloud infrastructure, networking, endpoint management, cybersecurity and field support.

The timing made the challenge sharper. Marco Capital and PoloWorks needed a responsive partner that could work at short notice, adapt as requirements changed and support two UK site relocations without pulling internal teams away from core insurance operations.

The Execution

A cloud-enabled, managed service model built for scale

Getronics produced an indicative, ROM-costed proposal within three days, then refined the solution with the PoloWorks team. The programme included two successful transitions, first for PoloWorks and then for Marco Group, with both teams relocated to new UK sites.

The service model combined ITIL-based service desk support, field support, end-user computing, Microsoft technology and Dell laptops built through Autopilot. Getronics also delivered cloud infrastructure support through Azure managed services, migrated 13 virtual machines and 7 TB of data, supported SQL databases and 120 daily-use URLs and added audio visual, network, Wi-Fi, M365 licensing and hardware supply services.

Marco Capital and PoloWorks now have a managed IT platform that supports day-to-day operations and future growth. The end-to-end, remotely delivered service model helps both companies implement IT processes and policies without diverting internal resources from insurance work.
